Why do people who ride bicycles ride against the traffic?

It really bugs me that people disobey the law and ride their bikes facing the traffic on the left side of the road instead of riding WITH the traffic, which is the law.

Don't these people realize that it is very dangerous to ride against the traffic, especially at corners?

I just had to vent. My friend thought it was the law to ride against the traffic because everyone did it.
Did anyone else think that you are supposed to ride AGAINST the traffic?
 
because they want to fly thru the air like the guy that hit me on a bike as i was leaving a parking lot on a busy street by the way u cute
