Or is it just sour grapes that their fave team of retards- Labour- buggered up the country and the medicine tastes rather unpleasant?

Let's recall 'Big Jim's" and supergenius Healey's accomplishments:
totally bankrupted nation
begged to IMF for bail-out loans
haemorrhaging 50 million/day from reserve
lost 24,000,000 days due to industrial action
emboldened militant hostile unions- cheers Red Ken- remember him in 70s?
Illegally and against his own government sought to sanction 220 companies for not abiding his 5% pay increase
Army press-ganged to provide ambulance services?
Army press-gang standby for petrol lorries
piles of rubbish, closed factories, picketed hospitals and locked graveyards
ruination of former world-class British automotive industry
3 day week implemented due to striking militant miners
Ultra communist Scargill running the nation by proxy
NUM's 1984-1985 ILLEGAL coal strike- called without ballot and unsupported by many other unions
Miners?
Who remembers Ian McGregor turning British Steel into a profit-running business?
Who remembers that same Ian McGregor evaluating British Coal as financially unviable?

15% interest? that's what happens when the IMF calls in its' Callaghan-Healey loans.

Cause and effect, people. Remember.

Well because it’s quite a long time ago and memories dim.
Times change.
There were some good things and there were bad things.
Poll Tax – remember the riots?
Remember the sleaze – they had it too you know

We have massive reserves of coal that we could have used which have been allowed to flood are now economically unviable.
Yes she did stop the power of the unions (they were over-powerful) - but she’s gone they haven’t (agreed they appear more moderate at the moment but.........)
Unfortunately, she did start the greed culture and it is still with us today.

We were allowed to buy shares in what we already owned – a lot of taxpayer’s money was used to support (yes and a lot of it was wasted – I know) on British Rail, British Gas, Electricity companies, and then relatively few people (i.e. the people who had spare cash were allowed to buy shares).
They took the competition model too far e.g. the splitting of British Rail into Railtrack and railway companies – it was an ‘unnatural’ market and the model failed.
They sold off council properties (good idea perhaps) and a lot of people bought their houses cheap but what they didn’t do was to ensure that the money that was raised from the sale was reinvested in the housing market. That’s why we have housing shortages and truly astonishing house prices.
When this was done like all other policies the full consequences weren’t thought through – that is why we now have BAA – the company that runs many UK airports owned by a Spanish company – with all her fervour for Britain did she and all her Cabinet ever think that such a thing could happen – probably not.
It’s ended up with me buying electricity from my gas company, phones from my gas company, gas from my electricity company – it’s a strange world.
My water is sold to me by a company that is owned by the French – just what interest has the French owner got customer service in England and the leaking pipes – not much really.
Then we’ve got quangoes Ofwat, Ofgas what was Oftel (I was waiting or Ofpis to be formed but they couldn’t find anything privatise with a suitable name!)
Of course this idea then led to the demutualisation of building societies (which of course ends up with where we are today with Northern Rock etc etc.
They underfunded the NHS for years,
Then there are the other issues – she probably wanted to get us out of the EU (EEC as was) but couldn’t politically because it was Edward Heath that took us in.

It was good but only in parts and the results of some of her actions rumble on today

Whether we like it or not!Margaret Thatcher tackled problems that other governments (Labour and Conservative were frightened to face up to!Most of Labour's projects were based on Margaret Thatcher's ideas!I have noticed over the years!Blair and Brown have not repealed any of her legislation! One other thing! There are a lot of injustices going on in the labour market right now which Trade Unions are not doing anything about! The question I ask is!Why is it Unions sit idly by to these injustices when a Labour government is in power !But not a Conservative! Is it because their leaders have 'eyes' on a career in the Crooked House (The House of Commons)??

Yeah - great party to vote for the Tories.

A party that's whole philosophy is designed to give tax breaks to the rich whilst prattling on about bizarre abstract non-sense such as family values (show me two families alike and I'll show you a lie).

Minorities? Historically the most vulnerable people in any powerful society - nah, it's all PC gone mad; stop whinning (even when when there is now whinning).

The whole ethos is this: Labour: attempt to share vs Tories, fck sharing. Simplistic I know, but you can see it lurking there, if you look carefully, in those policy statements.

Because they either weren't there or because they were too young to understand.
Either that or they've got selective memories of those years. Overall, I think working class people (as opposed to work-shy people) like myself and my parents did very well under the Thatcher regime. Having the right to buy your own home from the council was one example I can immediately think of.
