Why do people try to prove god with the Bible?

Sometimes when people ask a question about god or the universe or whatever, people start quoting Bible verses at them.

Which makes as much sense as me trying to prove that Harry Potter is real by quoting a HARRY POTTER BOOK. You know. The ones that narrate AS IF HARRY POTTER IS REAL.

If people are disputing the god of Christianity...you can't make them "see the light" by quoting a book they don't believe is anything more than a collection of stories written by nomads over a period of hundreds of years, over 2000 years ago.

You need to get OUTSIDE sources, people. Proving god and/or the Bible with the Bible is circular logic. "God exists because the Bible says so and the Bible is truth because god inspired it..." and so on. It makes no sense, goes nowhere, means nothing if you don't already accept god as real, and you look like a blind fool.

I really don't care if you believe in god, but don't try to prove he exists in a backasswards way. You make the smart believers look bad.
