many people think the Prius is the greenest car in the world, environmentally friendly, and the status symbol for anyone that wants to appear like they care for the world.
when the reality is if you were worried about the state of the Earth, and climate change, the Prius is one of the worst cars on the market.
this is because of how it is manufactured; first parts of the battery are mined in Canada then refined doing damage to local environment, then the batteries are shipped across the atlantic to Europe where they are processed more, then shipped to Africa, then shipped to China, then to Japan where they are actually put into the cars, then the cars themselves are shipped across the pacific to the USA where they are bought by the most green minded consumers.
it is estimated that the production of the Prius does more damage and contribution to climate change then it saves from low emissions and high mpg. in fact, some experts believe that a Hummer does less damage then a Prius.
