Lincoln was a nutjob. There was a constitutional amendment that would BAN SLAVERY in 1860 that he DID NOT SIGN. He could of ended slavery without killing 600,000 people. I think it was also clear that Lincoln was a hamiltonian and wanted centralized power. He went to war for the economical benefits.
