Why do people talk so much about Christianity?

Why do a lot of people talk about Christianity, when most of them don't really know much about it. I am Christian. But I've noticed a lot that most people I know, or a few people who've asked questions on here, just know the general concept of Christianity and not even looking at the context of it, but has never really dug that deep into it.

I was not born into a Christian family, but I chose the lifestyle 2 years ago, when I found this band, Flyleaf, and looked up the lyrics, and the background. Found out it was a Christian Metal band, then really looked into Christianity. Once I got my license, I went to a church down the street from my house, had a lot of doubts about the religion, and asked them all, now i'm a believer.

If people only know the concept? Why don't they actually look everything up, look every single question they've ever thought about religion, and talk to someone about it.
I love answering questions now to help save people.
@Andrea: I didn't start believing in the religion because it's my favorite band's religion. It's because I looked up the background of the lyrics, and had a lot of doubts, so I tried to find proof of every doubt and question I had, so I found it.
