Why do people say BluRay makes games look better?

Let me start off by saying I have a PS3 and 360 and will never get a wii. I hate it when ignorant fanboys say that BluRay makes games look better and makes them longer. Storage medium has nothing to do with how a game looks and the length doesn't either. If you run out of room on a DVD then you use another disc, it's simple. Fanboys, you make the console you defend look bad.
