...Honda,etc. ? Okay. So I had this debate in class and this poped up. Some people think (well majority) that say a Toyota is better than a Chevy malibu, ford fusion, etc. But I kind of don't agree with them, because now GM and Ford are making better quality cars. I think these people in my class are stuck in the past; even though they probably weren't old enough to remember those crappy GM and Ford cars. Sure in the 80's and 90's you could say this. But now that gap has shortened. They only thought about "oh my car (whatever it was can't remember) gets 22 mpg, and my dad's (something made by GM) only gets 32 mpg. So i'm declaring my car the winner since my wallet isn't hurting at the pump. Then again this was coming from teenagers who don't get paid much. What do you think?

Then they went on to say how customer service is horrible. I'll admit before like a couple of years ago; when my mom's chevy malibu broke it was devastating. My dad bought a '06 Ford Explorer in '06 and it's probably one of the best cars we've had. Sure gas is a little expensive but besides that everything is awesome. Engine is great and haven't had any problems (well with malibu we did but that's like 4 years old). The paint doesn't come off within a month of buying it like my mom's OLD CRV. My dad also bought a new '08 Honda Accord this year and i'll admit it's pretty nice. But I still think the Explorer is better. Also when mom's CRV got totalled (it did twice my mom is a horrible driver) you'd be surprised at how much it took to get repaired. I'm just glad my dad got rid of the CRV and hopefully soon that crappy '04 or whatever year malibu, for a new '08 malibu. I mentioned all of this and more to my fellow classmates, but they wouldn't buge! I couldn't say anymore because our class was only 30 min. So what should I tell them on Monday when this continues?

Sorry it's so long.

Tell them that imports are good for about 5000 miles, then that's when you get all of your motor ticks, like lifters and rods, cause they are thrown together, and then tell them that if their honda or toyota's lifters, or rods, or timing components, or any kind of sensors go bad, they should just buy a chevy or ford, cause it will be cheaper than replacing those parts.
