Why do people leave basketball games before they're over?

Whenever I watch an NBA game, if it looks like the home team will lose, a huge percentage of the audience leaves. If you spend money on tickets, why do so many people leave the game before it's over? Sometimes it looks like the team could even come back! Is everyone really in that much of a rush to get back to their car? I think I'm missing something.
 
It's been my experience that people just want to get to their cars early. Some Pistons' fans left the game early and they were WINNING! I don't quite get the logic with that either. In my opinion, if the game is going bad, we should stay, get another beer (or soda for all you youngsters) and wait it out. OR If they are winning, we should stay, get another drink, and wait it out. Either way, someone is bound to have fun!!
 
maybe its coz they dont want to see their team lose big time... or in a rush to get out before all the other people start pouring out of the arena...
 
because they know that their teams going to lose and the games going to be over anyway or that they have to leave of a dire emergency
