Why do people keep whining to me, expecting me to pity them?

im so sick of the sob stories. im too friendly and nice, to tell them how much they need to just shut up and get over it and rather than whine about it, do something about the situation.

these are the same people, that if i ever needed a shoulder to cry on, they would NOT be there.

what are some ways i can start telling them to do that?...
no one deserves to have their kindness and niceness taken advantage of.
 
Aren't you hippies supposed to be all about love and peace?

When they come to talk to you, are you offering them words of support? If so, stop. Just sit there looking at them; cut off what they are craving from you.
