a basis against religion? isnt that stereotyping? Isnt it really the abuse of power, greed, and sins of that nature that have been used by people, under the umbrella of religion? (kind of like politics)
Most people in history couldnt even read the Bible unless they knew greek, hebrew or latin. They were often told interpretations by people with special interests...including the church.
In Revelations, Jesus warns each religion (church) of their sins in doing this. So God does not support their actions many times in history, nor is scriptural.
And dont try to use the OT, that was strictly for the Israelites.
