Why do people get cats, then complain when they realize cats aren't "live teddy

bears" and they have needs?!?!? Hi, I'm curious to know why "some" people do that.
I know I'm not perfect, but I love both of my cats so much and constantly do my best to care for them in a healthy environment full of love and attention. But why do some people adopt or buy cats and then complain or get "disappointed" when they realize cats actually do have needs and the litter box is not going to get scooped by itself and it's 5 in the morning and he/she is hungry or wants to play, etc? Didn't they think that was going to happen?
 
Honestly I think I would be very lonely and sad if I wasn't being constantly pestered by cats. I don't know why some people have such a problem with cats and their "habits".
