Why do people feed into the left vs. right rhetorical debate anymore?

I am sick and tired of these left vs. right rhetoric attacks. Why doesnt the US Public understand that there is fundamentally no difference between a "Republican" and a "Democrat?" Its all the same nonsense.... bigger government, higher taxes, more disrespect for the constitution, warmongering, statism. The only difference is they allocate differently, but the results are the same.

Do the Tea-partiers (apart from the libertarians) actually get it???
 
You are blind to the dichotomy on both sides of the aisle. Both have liberal and conservative strongholds within them. We have a 4 party system if you look at it that way.

A. Rabidly marxist democrats - love huge govt, want to take away rights, dont care about morality
B. Blue dog democrats - care about rights, morality, dont care about spending as long as they get theirs.
C. Blue blood republicans - LOVE the worst parts of a corporation, loath morality
D. Conservative republicans - Stand for what this country was founded on, liberty, morality, fiscal responsibility, sacrifice.
 
Why do you feed into the idea that Right=Republican?

I am a conservative. I have not voted Republican in a long time.
