Why do people criticize you if you choose to ride bicycle?

I refuse to buy a car and choose to ride a bicycle just about everywhere I go, to work mostly which is a 4 mile ride =P. I mean I am not poor I went to Europe last year for vacation payed for myself, and am going to Russia and Turkey in August. Biking has kept me in shape and I have not had to spend money on gas, insurance, and maintenance for a car. When people ask if I have a car, and i say no i ride a Bicycle they look at me like I am a loser and tell me that I should buy a car with all my money instead of going on vacation. I HATE THIS!!!
I am only 19 years old!!!!!!!!!
 
Sadly i forgot how to ride a bike,, i really do miss riding a bike to the store, because it's so much easier then walking.. even though i don't have enough money to buy a car, i wish one day, i will overcome my fears of riding a bike again, after that accident where i fell down, everything just change for me

your life sounds very exciting congrats
 
whoever criticize's you is stupid, my friend has a moped and some people make fun of him but he doesn't care, and neither do i.
