Why do people complain when they use a biracial peroson as a black person?

Like in T.V. shows and movies. Why do people complain so much? Like I remember on My Wife and Kids how they took the dark skinned black girl off and put in a biracial girl. People complained about that. The dark skinned girl didn't even fit in with the rest of the family. I know they're biracial but why do people complain?
 
Because there's this argument that Hollywood doesn't put enough dark skin blacks on tv. There aren't too many Arabs either, but no one dis debating that. The thing is, people like what is realistic to people partrying characters we are use to or know of in real life. And BET is not the only network that features blacks. People watch certain channels so it's not like they tune in to other tv programs to see what they want(Black people).
