Why do people complain about it?

Is it still true that life is what you make of it? If this is true, why do people complain about how tough their life is especially if they made their life tough. Take for example working crappy jobs. We are free to be whatever we choose to be in life career wise. Some people get college degrees to better themselves, and some do not. In my opinion, if a person has the chance to change their life for the better then they should do so instead of complaining about it and even getting mad at other people who were not afraid to take risks to get them where they want to be in life. I mean don't get mad at a person who came up with a wild idea to make millions and followed through with their idea that made them millions while you never followed through with your dreams and passion in life and settled for whatever crap came by. I don't see how people do that but they do it. I sure can't do that.

Life isn't always what you make of it; bad things happen. Not everyone has the intelligence or skills to become a professional (e.g. a vet, lawyer etc) even if they want to nor does everyone have the special skills to start up a business and run it.

People can be limited due to intelligence, lack of talents and lack of the skills needed to be successful in anything but menial or manufacturing jobs where they are not highly paid. Consider also that many people lose their jobs due to down-sizing or disabilities. It is not easy to find jobs these days which pay a living wage for the blue collar worker. And it is very hard for the disabled to find even minimum paying jobs or to get into sheltered workshops these days.

There are some who would be very stoical under the the above circumstances but most of us would be complainers. Those who have the intelligence to get into another line of work but need retraining don't always have the money to do so; particularly someone living on unemployment with a family to support. It must be very frustrating for people who have worked all their lives to lose jobs & the stability that once went with them.

So please don't be so harsh when judging people; you don't know their circumstances. Also, I used to work for Social Security and interviewed every type of person possible. I never once heard anyone I knew or worked with or interviewed who complained about those lucky enough who were able to earn substantial amounts of money. That's not to say that there aren't those who complain about the rich but I haven't personally heard it unless you're talking about hate groups who hate the Jews because so many are successful.
