Why do people always insult Forza 3 by calling it an arcade racer and saying it has cartoonish graphics and it sucks?
The graphics aren't bad at all in game, sure Gran Turismo's 5 ARE better, but only on the 200 premium cars and half of the environments (which don't make up for 800 sub par looking cars vs Forza's 508 good looking cars and nice looking tracks.)
Forza also has recorded engine sounds, not synthesised like Gran Turismo's and you can hear the difference in game.
Is wheel spin, tire deformation, fuel, real damage cosmetic+performance an arcade game?
play Forza yourself and enjoy 508 Fully modelled cars which sound so unique, turn off all the assists and every car feels completely different. Give it a try you might not like it that much if your a Gran Turismo player but you will acknowledge it has a great game and solid competitor (ignore the 12 year old xbox 360 fanboys, there are plenty of mature players that respect gran turismo like me)
Forza 3 has 508 cars, Gran Turismo so far has 1031 (over double), i'm sure many more will be added for Gran Turismo but honestly i don't want to drive 37 skylines when Forza has 5 from different dates that feels more than enough. Forza still has a great number of cars and theres barely any car you won't find, 30+ porsches, Koenigsegg and Mclaren.
Forza 3 has LITERALLY over 60 car brands that's no lie. Forza 3 has a better variety of cars, you can even buy a TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (one in existence).
I'm no fanboy of Forza honestly. I thought Gran Turismo 5 would rape it when it was released, but a few weeks before its release date watching videos i knew i'd like Forza better. Things Gran Turismo 5 has that are excellent though which i wish Forza had are the night time racing (looks amazing) rally is AWESOME, premium cars are beautiful.
I'm being completely honest i think Forza 3 beats Gran Turismo on almost all levels, i don't know where 6 years went for that game it should have been so much better even if it can't be perfect.(why is my frame rate for Gran Turismo always sub 30? Sometimes it even drops below 20 and i hate gameplay that isn't smooth. i CAN tolerate 30)
just so you know, my nextdoor neighbor was trying to get me to buy a Playstation 3 and had pre ordered GT5, i was considering buying a Ps3 and was realy excited when he came over and said his GT5 came. Its still a good game and this is obviously quick to make assumptions but HOW DID THIS TAKE 6 YEARS? i just don't see what happened i suspect they weren't happy with the game and rebuilt alot of things from scratch halfway through the production cycle. I DON'T HATE GT5 I OWN GT4 and i played it alot. I think polyphony even knows it could of been that much better.
Please don't insult me for this i'm not a hardcore racing fan but i'm not casual, for me realism and variety means everything and both are decent at the level of realism but Forza 3's variety wins it for me.
I'm going to work so ill come back and fix the grammar and add points when i get home.
