I wanted to switch to an android phone and thought that I would just need to pay the extra $40 on my existing family plan. But the representative at the sprint store said that I cannot do that with the evo or epic. She said that I needed my own line for about $70. So I asked her what if I bought my own without the 2 yr. contract and she said that even if i owned the phone by paying the $500, I would still need to pay the $70 and not get it as an add on for $40. So my question is why do people buy the phones on ebay or other sites if this rule applies to all android devices on sprint.
