Why do people associate acne/facial redness with the military?

It sounds like a dumb question, but I have noticed that people associate my acne with "looking like I will join the military" which I don't quite understand. People have always said I look like I am in the military, which I never really understood...lol, but I did have a buzzed cut for a while. Anyhow, I was once asked why my face was so red, and someone else said, "He's gonna join the military, man." Yeah, none of this makes any sense to me...which is why I'm asking if you've noticed anybody make this peculiar association
