why do people always try to fish for compliments on yahoo answers?

there's always people asking to rate them and they are always asking if they are pretty, or hot.

why is it that people are trying to fish for compliments?

do they have low self esteem or something? even if they really ARE pretty?
it's not like im angry that people post those questions, i'm just wondering why they do it.
 
because we are people and are always trying to get compliments to make ourselves feel great, its what humans do. dont tell me you have never done it even if its not on yahoo.
 
I agree but...i always click on those questions haha. And I'm sure you do too.
