Why do people always go off topic on your questions?

I have used Yahoo Answers for quite a while now and i am truly tired of asking a simple question about something and everyone, i mean EVERYONE has to go way deeper in the topic even to the point of horrible criticism every time. I was wondering who else hates this? I know some of you who do this will answer this question.....
 
ive had this strange growth on my toenail for the last week. im not sure what it is but its starting to throb and change color.
 
lol this is the funniest post I have seen on this site :). To answer your question and to stay on topic I think it can get off topic when people try to connect events from their life to what your question is or maybe they think if they get philosophical you will vote them as the best answer lol and yes I completely understand the problems with criticism. Someone will always post something negative. My advice would be to ignore the negative post and just try to look past the "way deeperness" of the answers and pick outa helpful answer. I hope I helped :)
