Why do my parents say "don't worry about it" when I talk about friends,...

...girlfriends, etc? I know I have a history of talking about human behavior. Whether that's about my girlfriend, my ex's, my friends, classmates, my landlord, employees, employers, clients, customers, investors, etc. It doesn't matter but I have complained and talked about them before.

My parents have told me don't worry about it and focus on it but I never understood it until I read a quote that said, "fools talk about human behavior. successful men talk about ideas." Do you agree with that?

I think when I look back at my past and life, ultimately what other humans did didn't matter anyways or wasn't a big deal unless it was threatening myself or others which never happened. Ultimately what's important is how you use your talents to serve others in this world.

What do you think of my parents advice?
