They ARE gasping for air. No fish should be kept in a bowl. Goldfish should have 20 gallons for the first goldfish and 10 more for each additional goldfish. They require aeration and heavy filtration. Bowls are for cereal. Please do your research before getting any animal.

well bowls do not usually require an additional oxygen pump, but since u have 3 fishes i suggest u add another oxygen source.
one more reason maybe that the water maybe dirty(due to over feeding)which reduces the oxygen content. try doing a 20% water change at an interval of 5 days.
also due to rise in temperatures, the oxygen content drops. try moving to a cooler place.
Fish also breath through their mouth, as in ur case... gasping for air at the top.
all of the above are from my experiences when i had a fish bowl(it eventually broke... bad quality)
I hope it helps. take care

Because they're in a tiny little bowl dying from their own waste and they're breathing oxygen because it's better than breathing all the ammonia and stuff that's in the bowl.

Please get a tank. Bowls are the cruelest deathtrap known to fish.

swim at the top of their bowl?

they sorta look like they're gasping for air too or eating something invisible XD

all three of them are doing that O_O

but they don't breathe air through their mouths >.> do they? D:

what kinda fish are they?
Some fish prefer a specific water temperature and pH level, so i'd check those, they sell pH water tests at pet stores. It's most likely a temperature problem though, as the top of the bowl is the warmest spot. Unless you're pullin our legs here..haha who doesn't know that fish breathe through gills?
