Why do most people like to watch animes?

I really dont like animes.I dont know why I dont tlike it....My friends watch animes like Naruto,pokemon. And they have given me all the episodes of atleast ten to fifteen animes in a cd
One thing I feel all the animes are same with same faced characters.Most of the animes will have power coming out of their hand a fireball or freezing someone...And one thing I cant remember the names of the characters and all of them are weird..Where am I going wrong while watching ????Why my friends love it to the core ???
I have all the animes collection ....But I get confused by just watching those.I just love shinchan and doraemon.I am not behaving childish but thats what I love...I used to watch cartoons from cartoon network and I feel its way better than animes....But they too have stopped showing and have stated showing animes....
 
It's hooking, I mean catching. Once you started it especially when the plot is good, you'll have hard time stopping yourself from reading or maybe watching when it's animated. It's fun! Just similar to how ordinary television shows does to you. :))
