Why do most fast food restaurants use lard instead of plant oils in their deep friers?

Also, what would the effects be for the long term health of concerned consumers?
 
Lard is cheaper to use and easier to reuse/store. Too much will cause a build up in your arteries and veins.

Just look at it. You can look at butter the same way. Melt either and put it in the refridgerator to cool. The same thing happens in your body.
 
its cheaper to use and buy than vegetable or olive oil. Thats what they make soft serve cones out of aswell
