Why do most anime characters have such white features?

Please don't give me that psychological answer that because i'm white i assume that characters with no specific traits are white. I don't want this answer because although allot of thinking went into it, i must respectfully disagree, its obvious otherwise, in most other cases i would agree thats a distinct possibility but not in this one. The characters almost all have round eyes, white skin and medium brown and blonde hair. Now i know not all Japanese fit a stereotype but thats a bit to far off. Another reason i think otherwise is because I've watched allot of anime and i've seen more Asian rendered characters, there will be all the stereotypical anime people and then one what that has very Asian looking features, obviously Asian. Now theres is a few animes, like Death note where overall the character do have less white features, Light I thought looked Asian, hes drawn to look more twords that end, Misa looked white, L looked like a white emo kid, which emo kids are about as close to anime looking people there is i would personally say. On a side note i'm note sure about Misa but in the show it did end up that L was from the UK but it was hard to tell since most anime characters have white features anyways so i'm never fully sure one way or the other. Heres an observation, serious anime tends to have more Asian looking characters, but not usually. So throw your opinions out I suppose.
