Ok.. So whenever I watch tv and I see shows about a kid and their life or whatnot, it's always the same stereotypes... Like the "band geek" the jock who is popular, or some thing along those lines... I don't get why Tv shows which are in a position to stop this cycle of negative stereotyping just enforce it more.
At my high school everyone was just who they were... No one thought you were cool because you played football, and no one thought you were a loser if you played an instrument. You were cool/ uncool because of your personality. Yes I know the stereotypes do exist in some schools, but why keep the cycle going and enforce it by pushing it in the media? It's like people are just more going to think that by them playing football is going to make them look cool, or if they play an instrument it's going to make them look like a loser...
So before they even get into high school they already have decided what they want to do/ not do, because they think that's the way it is, cuz they see it all over everything they watch... from even disney shows... like wtf? Kids are being taught this before they even get into school, so of course that's the way they're going to view those that partake in whatever activity.
