Why do I swing from the wrong side when batting?

Alright so I'm right handed, but for some reason ever since I was a kid I've swung from the right side of the plate.

Its no real problem since I'm capable of hitting it fine, I just find it odd that everyone else who is right handed seems to swing on the left side. I've tried standing on the left side but it just feels awkward. Why is this?

It's just the way you learned. When you were a kid you picked up a bat, looked at whoever had the ball, and swung. it worked, so you did it again. and that's how it works for you. It really doesn't matter. If it works for you than that's great, i can't even hit the ball :P lol. It may even give you a bit of an advantage! Just remember, its a game and have fun!

It could be that you learned that way intuitively because you're left-eye dominant. Some of the best hitters have historically been visually cross-dominant.

It's all about what feels natural for you. When I was a kid my uncle taught me to swing from the left side and it felt different for quite a while. You have a huge advantage if you can swing from both sides of the plate though keep it up!
