I have a 1991 S10, and when i turn it on I get the smell of antifreeze inside the cab, I also get a little bit of rusty water coming out from the vent in the center floor. I am getting this even with my heater turned off. Can anyone help?
Yeah but if I bypass heater core then I wont have a heater or a defroster.

off topic but have you ever noticed that old antifreeze smells like....you know...rotten crotch

If it is inside the cab with all doors and windows shut it is likely the heater core. Look for coolant in the passenger side floor. Also, get down there and sniff. If you decide to bypass the heater core you shouldn't need to cut the hoses, just disconnect them from the firewall and get an adapter to connect them together.

You need a heater core - soon your windows will start fogging up on the inside and you'll be driving down the road while peering through the small opening where you just wiped off the windshield.
