Why do I have white patches on my lower abdomen and upper groin area?

So I went to the dermatologist about this and he said it was a birth mark. I don't think hes right. He told me that if it's only on one side of my body then that's what it is. Now it's SPREAD to the other side. :(

uugh IDK what to do I've been looking online for all these things and the only thing I can find is tiena versicolor but I don't think that's it because ive used selson blue shampoo and anti fungal cream on it and it's still there.

This situation makes me self worthless and I hate it. Im too afraid to do anything like go to the lake. I'm 18 and i've never even had a Boy friend. LIKE WTF.

IDK I cry about it sometimes :(
 
i had that on my back when i got pregnant and it was a fungus type thing. mine was spreading everywhere when i was 19 and for 2 years it was there just spreading.i'm now 22 and spot-free. i used the para-oxyl bar to wash with every day and then put lotrimin anti-fungal cream on it overnight. during the day use baby powder so you won't sweat in that area at all cause i think that's what causes it.good luck!
