Why do I have to constantly add Transmission fluid to my 1993 Buick LeSabre?

Hey,
We have a '93 Buick LeSabre that constantly requires Transmission fluid. I was driving it home a couple of weeks ago, and the Tranny quit pulling. I threw some fluid in there and it was good to go. Well, this keeps repeating - My transmission fluid seems to be constantly low, and I'm always having to add more in whenever I decide to go anywhere. I don't see any leaks, does anybody have any ideas?

I heard there might be water in the fluid, and someone told me to change it out, and change the filter...I'd just like to get other suggestions. Any help appreciated!

There is a leak.

Just because you cant see it doesnt mean that it isnt there.

Take it to an autoshop.

They have a flourescent dye that they can put in it, and a black light with special glasses that will make it glow, and they can see exactly where it is leaking.

Given the age of it, its probably some seals that are broken, or worn too much.

Definately have someone who knows what theyre doing have a look at it though, you'll save money in the long run, as you wont be putting tranny fluid in it all the time.

Well, that fluid is going somewhere. You may not see a leak but that just means that you don't get a puddle on the driveway. You are going to have to get under the vehicle and actually look. If you have somewhere to hoist the car and run the car with the wheels turning (under load would be best) you may discover where it's going.
Other than that, I'd guess professional help may be needed.
Good luck anyway.

does it have water/coolant in it,,,thats a differnt ? water in tranny is from leak in radiator where fluid is cooled,,,do you have tranny fluid in radiator/overflow??

don't see leaks,,,have you looked at pan? tranny pump only works when running....fluid is going somewhere

go to tranny shop/trusted mechanic...100 dollar fluid change /filter will not hurt and u may learn whats up
