I've been having pain in one of my back teeth for about a week and a half. I went to the dentist, and they prescribed me some antibiotics, and I'm scheduled for a root canal next week. My dentist told me that the antibiotics would get rid of the pain, but when I stopped taking them it would be back and worse. I'm supposed to be taking one pill every eight hours, but it took me a couple of days to get a schedule organized. But, about an hour ago, I started having this sharp, somewhat achy pain that's worse than before, and I'm worried that the infection could be getting worse. I'm getting tempted to just rip the tooth out, so please tell me what's wrong?
