why do i get pain under right shoulder blade when i burp?

I don't know, does your shoulder-area hurt when you move it also or is it just when you burp?
Right shoulder-area pain can be referred pain from many different places - gallbladder, esophagus, stomach ulcer, pancreas. Since it's when you burp, I'd guess it has something to do with your esophagus, a spasm maybe. You should see your doctor for a check up, just to make sure it's nothing serious.

I HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM AND DON'T KNOW WHY1 I HAD AN AUTO ACCIDENT AND INJURED MY NECK AND WONDER IF THERE IS SOME NEUROLOGICAL CONNECTION. I MAY NEED TO HAVE MY ESOPHAGUS SCOPED NEXT TO RULE OUT ANYTHING THERE.
ANY ELSE W/SUGGESTIONS OR EXPERIENCE? THE PAIN IS SHARP IN RIGHT SHOULDER BLADE WHEN i BURP AND ALSO WHEN DOING SOME MOVEMENTS!!!
