Why do I get a flashing red square in the top right corner when I try to use

video effects in "LifeCam"? I'm using Microsoft Lifecam, with my Microsoft LifeCam Show webcam, and the video effects occasionally work, but often all I get is a blinking red square in the top right corner. Haaaalp!
