why do guys that play sports shave there hairs?

i knew a guy that would swim, play basketball, and other sports would shave his arms and legs, why? c'mon hairs not in the way.
c,mon are hairs that heavy to make u slower? that seems pretty dumb to me.
 
it can be to increase speed, but also to be able to play sport...before i started shaving my legs i got me ankles strapped for netball and it HURTS getting the tape off with hairy legs :D
 
in mountain biking it's less painful to remove stuck bandages from your legs after an injury.
 
excess hairs produces sweat during vigorous exercise or playing which in turn produces sweat leading to fungal infection
usually players not even prefer to wear underwear during
games too because of this reason
 
my cousin does it he swims and plays soccer and my brother too its to increase speed

well thats what they say...
