Why do gun control advocates always bring up hunting and/or "sport" when talking about..

...gun rights? I keep looking through the 2nd amendment, and I don't see anything about "hunting" or "sport" mentioned.

Maybe by "sport" they mean "violent overthrow of a tyrannical government"?

Where do they get the idea that the 2nd amendment is there to protect our right to hunt, or for "sport"?

No I am not drunk but you are deluded if you think gun advocates use hunting as an excuse to bear arms
 
I support them and don't mention either. You want weapons and can afford them then good for you, you should get them. Commit a felony and lose those rights.
 
A very dim view of the situation. Take your argument up against the gang members and you will get an insertion you won't enjoy. The police are too busy with traffic control and dope deals to handle the real criminals.
 
Nobody is going to take away gun rights.....just like nobody is going to end abortion. Both are personal choices.
