Why do gay people feel the need to be so, upfront, about their sexuality?...?

I once asked a similar question, to which the main response was "pride"...but, you don't see straight people, or asexual people "stating" their sexuality...at least, not unless challenged by a person with a different sexuality.

And they feel just as much pride...

And it isn't always obvious that they're straight, or asexual, or objectum-sexual (yes that is also a real sexuality, which means you tend to only love inanimate objects such as cars, walls, buildings etc)

And this..."in your face-ness" is also apparent in people who have never been tormented because of their homosexuality - so it isn't just down to a response to criticism either...

so, what is it about?
I'm just curious to know why this is, nothing against people of any sexuality.

ahh - didn't/couldn't see it from that angle, thanks :)
To the people saying that it's a lie and/or immaturity thing...I dunno personally - I've been to gay bars/clubs, I work with some gay people...and in both places...they've mostly been showy about it, in general...

I personally find it nice that they're so comfortable with it (seem a hell of a lot happier than most straight people do lol)

...just never understood why they seem to feel the need to be like "ohhh, I'm Gayyyy..." lol
