I've often heard it expressed that men want sex more than women, so that for sex to happen men have to provide women with some extra incentive, and this is why men created civilization. It made so much sense that I believed it, but I thought of a flaw. Gay men are well represented in the canon of the arts, and I wouldn't want to be without their contributions to music, but they couldn't have been in it for the sex, because the objects of their affection liked sex just as much as they.
