So, I have to ask this question because I'm hoping someones answer will lift some anger and resentment. I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder in January, Myasthenia Gravis. Everything happened quickly after I was diagnosed, I was feeling tired and both of my eyes were drooping. I feel like people couldn't understand why I couldn't to go out anymore. I ended up having to get a thymectomy (major surgery) done at the end of April.
After April people began to disappear out of my life. People who I considered my BEST friends NEVER came to see me in the hospital. A text every couple of weeks during recovery, no visits, and then eventually no contact at all. I work with one of those ex-"best friends" who I spent almost EVERY weekend with goin out before becoming sick. Six weeks after surgery returning to work she didn't say sh!t to me. I'm so hurt and almost feel like I HATE this chic to the point my chest gets tight when I see her.
I don't get it? How can you abandon someone during the time they need you the most? Does ANYONE have a valid answer for this?
I'm still trying to accept having a chronic disorder and lonlier than ever. But I'm pissed and have lost all of my trust in people that I have no interest at all in making new friends.
