Last spring I lost 7 fruit trees, the entire trees, to fire blight. Several other trees were damaged. However, when I read up on this disease they never mention it to be a problem in anything but apples and pears. I lost crosses between plums and apricots, cherry, nectarine, plums and apple but these other varieties are never mentioned as having trouble with the disease. Why not? I had more than one discussion with the county extension office to confirm it was fire blight.
