Why do Conservatives claim to "believe in" the Constitution, yet they are

usually the ones trying to change it? Tea Partier groups are now seriously suggesting the Constitutional Amendment (just like the 2nd amendment, which is of course "off limits" - lol!) that allows people to vote for their State Representatives be repealed.
I.e, Senators and Congressmen would be APPOINTED by politicians with the public having no say.
Who votes for the President? Why the State representatives of course, via the Electoral College! So you would have a President basically being APPOINTED, probably by business interests, with the public having no say whatsoever - Fox's TV dream government!
Other example - the anti-Gay Marriage Constitutional Amendment they have been trying to pass for the last 10 years.
Other example - them clamoring here and elsewhere to remove Miradanda requirements, which are a direct result of the Constitutional right not to be forced to testify against yourself.
Other example - Glenn Beck and others attacking people based on party affiliation and personal associations - both rights explicitly enshrined and guaranteed in the the Constitution.
OK, let the "you're stupid" name calling commence...
Oli - yes this was the argument I read, but how does the PUBLIC voting for their representatives somehow increase Washington power?
It makes no sense!
Does ANYBODY need more proof that the Tea Party - originally a sensible, legitimate group against TARP and high govt spending, has been taken over by Wall Street funded, Fox TV revisionist Neocon Republicans?
"Hollywood" - what you want is Right Wing Dictatorship, plain and simple.
Otherwise why all the daily claims here that "all blacks voted for Obama" (a lie), "People only voted for Obama because he's black" (another lie), and "morons voted for Obama" (I read it here everyday).
It's a CAREFULLY PLANNED prelude from you guys to take away the public's right to vote - period!
Other example? Conservatives wanting to repeal the 14th Amendment - link?

Here's a link from the TEA PARTIERS THEMSELVES saying they want to repeal the 17th Amendment. Clear enough?

Countdown till this question gets deleted?
