Why do conservative students choose useless majors such as economics instead of womens' studies or philosophy?

I believe colleges should focus more on liberal arts (womens' studies, gay and lesbian studies, Afro-American studies, philosophy, sociology, etc.) instead of the racist, sexist conservative classes such as business, engineering, math, science, etc.
