Okay, so I know it obviously summons people to worship, but why did they choose a bell when there are so many other ways they could have chosen? Also, why do they need to ring the bell to let people know they are open as shops for example don't ring a bell when they open but people still go to the shop. Most churches display worship times on a sign outside the church, so is the bell just to create an atmosphere?
