An atheist gives reasons not to believe in Christianity or God and some conservative Christians say "Why me?! Why don't you say these things about Islam? Are you afraid? I bet you are! You criticize my faith and not theirs because they go ape-s**t over cartoons and teddy-bears!" *breaks down in tears* "You suck!..." *sobs*
It seems to me that when Christians say stuff like this they don't know what they are talking about. Atheists don't shy away from criticizing Islam. Well-known atheists like Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens have been criticized for being too harsh about Islam. Remember Salman Rushdie, the guy that Ayatollah Khomeini put a fatwa on? He was an atheist! So is Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Atheists living in the West have pretty of reasons to focus on Christianity, one being that it is the dominant religion. Atheists in Europe or America focus on Christianity. Atheists in India focus on Hinduism. And so on. When conservative Christians make excuses like these they just show that they haven't read any atheist books, and that they don't understand that to argue against theism in general is to argue against both Christianity and Islam.
