I'm wondering why many catholic schools in North America have to wear a school uniform. For myself i only started wearing them in high school. Though i'm not much of a religious person. I've also noticed that most of my friends who are in catholic schools always have to wear them. Though not every catholic school has students with uniforms. Though i do hate wearing it, same with many other people; why is it mandatory for Catholic schools (besides private schools) to have uniforms? why can't it be like a public school where you can wear anything you want?

The premise behind school uniforms is that the students will concentrate on their studies, and not the latest fashions. In public schools that have no dress code or do not enforce one, some girls carry the "mini-skirt" look to extremes. This can cause problems, especially with those who can't contro their hormones or emotions.
