Why do Car Engines eventually die?? Read in full!!!?

When I say Engine, I mean Engine. Not the other parts that make up a car, like the muffler, alternater, batteries...ect...

I have a rebuilt Ford Escort engine.

I know the people eventually get rid of their cars after 200k or shortly after.

They stop running I guess.

I understand their could be something like the whole steering system needs replaced and would be more expensive than to just by a new car.

I've never actually heard of someones engine actually just dieing from having to many miles on it.

Maybe someone could explain to me.
