Why do Brits and Americans always argue on here?

I think it's a shame that we bash each other as much as we do on here. Our two countries are very similar and our history has been intertwined for the good and the bad since Britain's first colony in America.

I'm in the British army (currently on 2 weeks leave) and I'm serving in Afghanistan. Contrary to popular belief American troops are very professional and when I'm based with Americans we always have a laugh, yes there is a friendly rivalry between us but that's only natural. So when I come home and see British and Americans civvies (civilians) arguing among each other like they really understand military stuff it makes me laugh. Statistics mean nothing, who cares? I will always defend my nation but I do it on the court as well as off the court.
 
I know what you mean, but we are always going to compete a little it's just a natural thing.
I think Brits are cool for the most part just about the same I think Of Americans.
Actually I think most of us around the world could get along. If it was for political leaders that want to rule the world.
You should always defend your nation you are right about that.
I can't believe we have populations in our country who burn the US flag and celebrate their right of free speech by anouncing God Damn America. Some things like that just shouldn't be tolerated in our country or yours.
 
I think the british are quite reserved and the americans are outspoken, so because of this we think their being rude....hence the arguing.
I have no problems with anyone, i'll make my judgement on them when I meet them face to face.

What I can say about the americans i've met is, their very friendly and you'll never have a problem getting caught what to say in a conversation
 
I really think its just a way we all blow off steam, if we all stop and look at each others countries,we all seem to be in the same mess,to much government and not enough money.THANKS FOR BEING OVER THERE AND FIGHTING FOR BOTH OUR COUNTRIES!!!!!!!
 
Unfortunately, some of my father's people from across the pond in GB have taken to revisionist history, and they claim that they could have won TWO World Wars WITHOUT the United States.

Sorry, but I resent the HELL out of that.
 
I never argue with Brits on here. I love Brits and Britain. 2 of my closest friends are Brits. I argue with the idiotic US Republicans on here.

By the way, thanks for serving in the Army and fighting alongside our troops in Afghanistan.
 
I've never seen an argument on here or anywhere else between a Yank and a Brit....I hope you shoot better than you observe...lol

p.s. I see we finally have some proper troopies in the south now that the U.S. Marines have taken over the job.
 
Mainly, old pal, because you and your mates are there at the orders of international criminals (the US government) who have bought our political class and much of our media.

We - most of the British population - don't support American world domination, and we don't want British soldiers dying in America's lawless, imperialist, wars. Also, very senior British officers have warned that this war is unwinnable, and they are right. As a former Naval officer (most of my time in sigint) I do know something about it, and agree with their evaluation 100%. And still the brown envelopes for our politicians keep coming, and still the coffins keep coming home.

When they stop giving orders - and brown envelopes - to our politicians - they may have some friends in Britain again. We support you and your families absolutely, but the best way of supporting you is actually to oppose this war and demand that our politicians bring you home alive.

I don't mean to bash ya mike. Your service is greatly appreciated. But what you fail to realize is that civilians that you see arguing may or may not have at one time been in the military. Just as you too will be a civilian once your career is over. Some young buck or buckess will make the same generalizations that you have just made. So rather than look at them as if they don't have a clue. Listen, learn, and where you know them to be wrong, teach. But don't assume that because they aren't in military garb they are clueless as to what the military is about.

I don't bash Britain. I've visited there a few times and aside from the weather and maybe food, I'd love to live there. Only stupid, ignorant American rednecks and their British equivalent engage in such sophomoric behavior.
