The interpretation atheists gave to some of the Bible:
god asked for burnt offerings because god likes smoke therefore smoking is not a sin
every time you get something you want, it was because you were thinking about you therefore
man has to be selfish sometimes to survive.
god killed sodom and Gomorrah and other peoples of that time because he hates people
The real interpretation of that part of the Bible:
Selfishness does NOT mean caring about yourself. Selfishness means caring for yourself more than needed. And not caring enough for others
And God never loved burnt offerings, else He would not have forbidden them in the New testament.
God accepted burnt offerings as a proof that you sacrifice one of your possessions for Him so that you may become worthy to have your prayers heard.
God ordered that peoples of the Old Testament to be murdered because they were sacrificing the blood of their children to Moloch and to other false gods. And because they were living on the Holy Land of Palestine. The land of Palestine has always been God's property and everyone that commited sins there was murdered.
Even children were being punished for the sins of their parents because God was 100% just and
0% forgiving before Jesus paid for our sins
