Why do Americans think there so good? Like at sport for eg?

Why do Americans think there so good? Example at sports... They call their Baseball the world series, yet the only people who play are American teams. NFL is one of the slowest sports in the world; slower then gold. Whilst they should be great at basketball they cant seem to win for shit. I can't stand Americans and the way we always see them on TV. I know this is not even a high percentage of Americans. but they all seem so stupid
