The environment was one of our biggest liabilities. Their guerrilla were invulnerable in their home environment. We could not reach them in the jungle. So, even though it wouldn't curry much favor and be looked at as killing too many civilians, we could have just set fire to the jungles of Vietnam. Problem solved. It would kill civilians, which is always a tragedy, but that happens in war. It's like when Alexander the Great razed the city of Thrace to show the rebellious Greeks a lesson. Sometimes actions like that are necessary.
